Free5GGovPhone was built because most search results for "free government phone" are either years out of date or written to sell an offer that doesn't exist. We wanted a source that just explains the real program correctly.
What we are
We're an independent consumer-information website focused entirely on the federal Lifeline program. We research eligibility rules, provider offerings, and application requirements directly from federal sources like the FCC and USAC, and we update our guides as those details change.
What we're not
We are not the FCC, the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC), a wireless carrier, or any government agency. We don't process Lifeline applications ourselves — every application ultimately goes through your chosen carrier and the National Verifier.
How we make decisions about content
We prioritize accuracy over search-friendly claims. That's why, for example, our guide on free iPhones and Galaxy Folds tells you directly that those devices aren't part of Lifeline, even though that's not what many visitors searching for that phrase were hoping to hear.
How this site is funded
